Subject : Response to Misleading Allegations of Thai Military Incursion

Following the recent allegation made in a video circulated on social media by an individual identified as Mr. Michael B Alfaro. The video claimed that Thai military forces had encroached upon Cambodian territory and obstructed local Cambodian civilian movement. The video was later restricted access.

The Ad Hoc Centre for Thailand-Cambodia Border Situation would like to clarify the following points:

1. Credibility of the Individual Source:
Investigations confirm that Mr. Alfaro is neither an accredited correspondent of the White House nor affiliated with any recognized media or official organization. The company under his name was only recently established this year and lacks credibility. His statements therefore do not represent verified or reliable reporting, but rather personal opinions without substantiating evidence.

2. Distortion of Information:
The claims, presented in a manner that directly accused Thailand, contravene the principles of professional journalism and risk misleading the international community. The Ad Hoc Centre considers such conduct as dissemination of distorted and unacceptable information.

3. Thailand’s Position:
The Royal Thai Armed Forces categorically affirm that they have never engaged in territorial incursions nor undertaken actions that would violate the sovereignty of neighboring states. All Thai military operations are conducted in accordance with international law, with the highest degree of caution, and in full respect for universal human rights. Thailand attaches importance to maintaining neighbourliness with Cambodia but cannot accept the spread of misinformation that undermines national dignity and security.

4. Call to the Media and International Community:
The Ad Hoc Centre urges the media and international community to exercise due diligence in assessing the credibility of sources, and to rely on information from responsible and verifiable institutions in order to prevent the amplification of false narratives that could generate unnecessary tension.

The Ad Hoc Centre reaffirms that Thailand is fully committed to the universal principles of peaceful coexistence. However, it will not permit falsehoods, distortions, or provocations to compromise national integrity. Should the dissemination of such misleading information persist in ways that threaten security, Thailand will take action within the framework of national law and international mechanisms, firmly and decisively.
