Incident at the Operational Base Area near Phlan Hin Paet Kon

On 24 February 2026 at approximately 08:50 hours, while a unit stationed in the Thamo Chat area was conducting routine operations within territory under Thai control, one 40 mm grenade round was fired from a lower area and landed near the edge of a cliff in close proximity to the operational base. The location of the incident is approximately two kilometers northeast of Phlan Hin Paet Kon along the cliff line.

Following the incident, Thai forces discharged warning fire, in accordance with the situation, toward the lower area beneath the cliff edge in order to suppress the disturbance and immediately contain the situation.

After military procedures were carried out and the situation had returned to normal, commanders of both sides coordinated to verify the facts and to reiterate strict adherence to the existing ceasefire agreement among personnel operating in the area.

At present, there have been no further exchanges. All Thai personnel remain safe, and no damage to property has been reported.
