ทำการยิงเข้ามายังดินแดนไทยเพื่อทำให้เกิดการบาดเจ็บและสูญเสียในชีวิตและทรัพย์สินโดยอาศัยห้วงเวลากลางคืนที่ยากต่อการตรวจการณ์และยังทำให้เกิดการตื่นตระหนกต่อประชาชนในพื้นที่ชายแดน
กองทัพภาคที่ 2 จะยับยั้ง ป้องกัน และตอบโต้ภัยคุกคามนี้อย่างหนักหน่วงและเต็มขีดความสามารถ จึงขอให้ประชาชนอยู่ในที่ปลอดภัยและรับฟังการแจ้งเตือนข่าวสารจากหน่วยงานราชการในโอกาสต่อไป
